I got it done at a local shop so I have no idea. Same place printed 100 series hinge fixes with no issues though, print quality is also always very good.

Right now I’m in a mad struggle to get that awful center clutch cover back on. This one actually has all its clips which is making it more difficult. Any tips @LaPorta?

Did test though and the laptop works, which is good :)

At least from what I can see, you have the cover backwards: that center tab should be facing inwards.

Odd, it’s like an optical illusion. Is it hanging up somewhere, or simply trying to fit in too small a space? It is a tight fit from what I recall.

Yeah it’s pretty annoying. Still can’t get it in. I’ve tried different angles, brute force even, nothing works. It just won’t go down further than the point in the first photo

I gave up on getting the fully intact one in, used one with two broken clips. Ah well, will take another look at it later.
Anyways it’s done!

It isn’t perfect, but I think it turned out pretty well! That was a lot of work. Can’t say this was my favorite restoration to do out of any, but hey, I’ve got a decently nice pair of 1400s now so I’m happy.

Congrats on finishing them! I'm still undecided if I'm keeping my 1400c or not. It doesn't really fulfil any particular need for me, it's just a nice example of when Apple started to get on track with their laptops again and it can run a decent amount of System 7/OS 8 software. The 1400c/166 is a particularly nice spec.

Looks like I should probably be on doing this soon. I've a cs/117 and c/133 both in pretty good condition but out of curiosity I had them out tonight and the c/133 has some line ghosting in the LCD and the contrast switch does... weird things sometimes.

Yeah...my standoffs just blew out of the right side of the case...seems like I may need to do something as well.
