typically gorgeous work by @jmacz for Part 922-0789 Display Access CoverDon't know about that guy but @jmacz made a design recently, I've got the download up on my website: https://macdat.net/macintosh/powerbook/500_series/540c/resources.html
no, there's nothing in any public depositary. that’s why i came back to this thread to ask about the friend.I don’t see one on Thingiverse unfortunately.
hey these are all great! thank you for your work!Since it could be of some use to @AEChadwick while someone else makes a better recreation, I just published it at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5904271
i feel this. I have tried to model it and given up, several times. your version looks good, the basic structure is excellent; the creepy double-parabola-thing is a little off, but sometimes in television we say, “Done Is Art.” I’m printing four of these right now tonight.because the shape was off
Earlier in the year I attempted to recreate the clutch cover but I wasn't completely satisfied because the shape was off and didn't publish it on thingiverse. Since it could be of some use to @AEChadwick while someone else makes a better recreation, I just published it at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5904271
If it helps anyone else I also tried to recreate:
- Powerbook 500 Series Display Access Cover : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5904483
- Powerbook 500 Series Rear Door : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5904455
- Powerbook 500 Series Modem Port Blank Cover : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5904511
These are great! I could have saved myself some time and just used your display access cover!

I was browsing Thingiverse (having looked a month or so ago) and was stunned when all your items popped up the other day. I just want to say a big heartfelt thanks for sharing these, and congratulations on your work. I really like what you’ve done with the display access cover wedge-shaped clips (integrated from another design); they look like they will work better than the fragile fingers.Earlier in the year I attempted to recreate the clutch cover but I wasn't completely satisfied because the shape was off and didn't publish it on thingiverse. Cheers, fuzzylogic, for the inspiration.Earlier in the year I attempted to recreate the clutch cover but I wasn't completely satisfied because the shape was off and didn't publish it on thingiverse. I’ve uploaded mine to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6280031
I’m quite happy with the result, though it may not be perfect
