SE/30: IIsi NuBus Card might work in Artmix adapter??????

From the PM thread about ProtoCache1 development:

.  .  .  Bus Mastering appears to be the problem with using the IIsi NuBus adapter in the SE/30. DCaDftMF details the differences in memory(?) addressing as being the same issue we're facing here. The signals involved seem very familiar.

<snip>

Dumb@$$ WAG: the IIsi Nubus adapter might not work, but I'll bet a nickel that it won't bomb the SE/30 during POST if it's installed in Artmix's DiiMO adapter clone.

Come to think of it, that might be a down and dirty test of the Bus Mastering Theory!
If anyone could test the IIsi NuBus adapter in an SE/30 PowerCache adapter it would be a big help in two of my favorite SE/30 projects. If you get any better result than:

I would LOVE to hear about it. I've tested the IIsi adapter in the SE/30 numerous times in Project30 - IIsi NuBus adapter in SE/30 trials - take 3

Bolle:

IIsi adapter in TwinSpark is not going to work because BR/BG is "broken" by the TwinSpark.

NUTS!!!!! :-/

edit: hrmmmm???? I'm still wondering if the SE/30 might still POST with the NuBus adapter in the passthru slot even if it can't function under the DiiMO/Artmix adaptation?

Theory on IIsi (or any other chipset implementation) NuBus Adapter/PowerCache in SE/30:

PowerCache works in the IIci

DayStar made a IIsi PowerCache adapter with a NuBus Slot

PowerCache runs the show in any IIci Cache Slot or Adapter for it

Can it be considered as doing so independently of its host system?

if so: could we buffer the PowerCache to talk to one isolated slot that's NOT strictly an SE.30 PDS Passthru so that memory operation signalling on the buffered/isolated PowerCache <-> "IIsi" conversion slot for the NuBus Adapter would be handled with IIsi memory control and NuBus signalling instead of the SE/30 Memory control signalling whenever the PowerCache is talking the "special bus" connector to the NuBus Chipset?

Simplified?????

This would amount to buffered A/B switching of PowerCache memory and general control line operations as if it were in a IIsi adapter state or an SE/30 adapter state whenever necessary.
