powerbook G4 screen syndrome

Did anyone encounter this problem before, here a powerbook G4

I'm pretty sure this wasn't there a couple of months ago (I would have noticed, I replaced the hdd on that one )

This is particularly visible at a specific angle, barely visible with screen off.

I don't think this is vinegar syndrome (as this clearly isn't visible much screen off) altough it may well be the early stages

From what I understand, these are complicated to take part, the screen assembly difficult to open, so I might as well be selling that one for parts and look for a better one if there is no easy fix.

That looks like early stage vinegar syndrome to me. You can replace the polarizer film, but as you've said, that's a difficult process.
Could you provide more photos at different angles, and some with the screen off?

Ha that would be frustrating... The thing has waited 20 years in someone's attic or basement, and now that it is in good hands all re-installed, with a nice SSD hard disk and all, it dies in my hand.
