Finally: Through the Looking Glass!

I wasn't sure I'd ever find a copy f "through the Looking Glass" but I finally did.  It's not in pristine condition because of some flaking of the pigment on the inside of the box but I wasn't going to let it go because these just don't come up for sale very often and definitely not at a decent price.

Here's some pics:

What's a "decent price" for this? I have a copy, but haven't looked at it in a while to see what shape it's in.

I got it for $125 shipped.  Because it came from down south, it worked out to about $100.  I think it was worth it.  I was just happy to find it on Craigslist.

Wow! Great find and on CL no less! Did you find it via a CL search alert or randomly?

Searchtempest.com and persistence :)   It's actually found three on Craigslist in the last couple of years.  The first was with a bunch of other software but the person already had a local buyer. The second had an asking price that was just too expensive. And of course, this one is the third.

That is just bad ass. Congrats and thanks for sharing the pics. What are your other "white whales" that you've gotten and/or missed?

I recently picked up two of mine - "Kings Bounty" for Mac OS and a boxed macintosh LC - weird ones but the keys for my collection!

I've acquired a number of items via Craigslist that are near impossible to find and a few were Mac related (Apple stuff is probably 20% of my collection).  I acquired a fully boxed Mac 128k, my Mac 512k with early Hyperdrive and at least one Apple Lisa  2.  On a similar note, I got my TAM through a regional online ad that I found through a Google search.  It resulted in a free Apple IIGS that was loaded as a throw in.  Those all have conquest threads here.

If you actively look, you can find almost anything.  I also found some items that the Computer History Museum would probably like to have.  A working IMSAI PCS-80/30, an IMSAI 8048 (only 350 made and I'm too chicken to plug in), a couple of MOS KIM-1s, my IMSAI 8080, a Processor Technology Sol 20 with Helios II drive (mega rare).  I've also missed a few items due to those who wouldn't ship or the item already sold like a FREE Commodore SuperPET (missed that one by a couple of hours), a MITS Altair 8800 (already sold) and the list can go on. Most of this stuff doesn't mean much here.

What I am still trying to find?  An Apple Lisa 1, an MCM/70 (Canadian computer), a Bell and Howell Apple II Plus at a reasonable price.

What am I working on acquiring? A Pixar Image Computer in working condition with the SGI IRIS 3130 host computer but this was not on Craigslist.  It doesn't look like it's going to happen because the seller is dragging his feet but it's not a definite no.  It took me almost 11 months to land an IBM 5100.  Forgot to mention that.  It was also on Craigslist.

That is an insane haul. I don't seem to have as good of luck with CL as I do w/EBAY but will keep my eyes out for the stuff on your list - looking for any other vintage mac games? have lots of stuff set to search / alert on a variety of those -

I'm actually not a gamer.  I am more interested in the hardware and OSes and that's why I have the variety I have.  However, I have a sweet Amiga 3000T that I want to fill up one day and go "gaming crazy" for a little while :)  I just need to clean up a few projects first.  I think the last game I played was on a Sol-20.
