Q840av randomly decides to die?

Hey all, went to try and play a little with my q840av now, but for some reason, it doesn't start? It's been a while since i tested it, but when i put it away, it was working perfectly... Changed the PRAM battery, no fix...

What it does is nothing, no beep, no sad mac and no video. The machine has no sticks in either of the VRAM slots, but i seem to have read somewhere that the machine has 1mb onboard and upgradeable to 2mb using 4x 256kb sticks... Can't remember if it had any sticks in there or not, i think it didn't, but my brain is made of Teflon...

Ideas for what's happened to my poor q840?

Well, chances are it's just had enough. How old is this machine?

Yes, Macs last for ages, but eventually they just stop working. I know it's sad, but computers can't last forever. Have you tried replacing key parts, like the hard drive or the power source? That might get it to work.

Weird thing is, if i leave the thing running for a minute or so, then push the power button twice, it starts up and generally behaves normally... Why is that? Also, does anyone have suggestions for software for recording video from the AV card, apart from Apple Video Player?
