PowerBook 160 screen mirroring?

I have a PB 160 with screen issues that I’m trying to resolve but I recently was able to connect it to an external display.

The default seems to be to extend the desktop to the external monitor with the built in screen as the main screen (with the menu). Is there any way to force the external monitor to be main monitor?

It would be great if this was possible with some key combination as my internal screen most of the time is too bad to see anything on at all.

Ordinarily I think you would need to drag the menu bar to the other monitor in the relevant (Monitors?) Control Panel, making other changes as required there as well. I don‘t think there’s a key combination for this. However, if you can see enough of the PB’s screen to open and then drag the Control Panel to the other monitor, you can circumvent the murkiness of the lcd and fine tune when the Control Panel becomes clear on the second screen. I doubt that the ‘book will retain the setting without battery or continuous power, though.

My 160 absolutely required the caps replaced on its lcd, btw.

I used multiple screens a lot over the years. When menu bars finally appeared on multiple screens (Mavericks?), I was a happy camper. I can’t think why the change had not been introduced years and years earlier, since it made for such an improvement on the earlier interface.
