Backporting HFS+ to Mac OS 8.0 and earlier

Quick question for you on the subject of Zip-100 drives and disks. How do you find their reliability? Because I’ve been using some disks that I’ve had since 1998 in a SCSI drive I got off eBay, and I’m finding that those disks are randomly corrupting themselves or becoming unreadable. Do you think the media might be worn out?
Might be one for a new thread.

Re: Zips. No idea on "outside" media. The collection ive had for decades and kept in controlled conditions all work just fine.

I made a simpler patcher. Grab it here :

Hosting it externally so I can make updates if needed.

I've included the listed resources, but from 8.1, is that likely to cause issues?

I'm getting a 404

I thought you might have fixed that since your patch is named "HFSPlus 7.5.x" rather than "HFSPlus 7.5.5"

Cool. Downloaded it. Will try it out on the 650 this coming weekend and see if it works. Am running 7.6.1, so it should.

Hi got the program resource miner, loaded the included 7.6.1 patch then select the system suitcase but when apply got several conflicts like the one in the picture.
If I choose to "apply to all further conflicts" and "overwrite" the result is a nonworking system folder that stuck on the happy mac.
Not sure what could be the cause of this.

I'm following up on a report that this is unstable and should be considered experimental because it could result in data loss.
Can someone confirm the current state of these hacks, as it may be appropriate to add an [Experimental] or [Unstable] tag to the subject of the thread.

I'd be inclined to suggest the opposite approach: everything in Hacks&Dev should be considered unstable unless explicitly stated to be production-ready and even then should be treated with suspicion...
