A call for help from PowerBook 1xx owners!

If you have a moment to test something :)
I've been working on a module that adds an integrated AirTalk using the modem port of the 1xx (except the 190) series PowerBooks (see here). It works beautifully on my 100, but not on my 150.
What does not work? Well you need an extension to enable LocalTalk on the modem port, and that extension (from Apple) throws an error on the 150.
So I would need others that have one of the other powerbooks to try the extension and see if it runs. If it does, there is a chance my board can do AirTalk there and it is worthy to test the actual hardware. The only thing to do is to install the extension attached and then select the LocalTalk on the modem port in the Network control panel. If it does not die with an error, it should work ;)
If anybody has a moment to test this, I would be very grateful!

Cool thanks!
In theory my board also signals that the modem is installed (if I did it correctly!), so it should work the same.

I would never even have considered that I couldn’t use AppleTalk over the modem port on this machine as it’s normal with open transport to be able to select AppleTalk over either serial port.

In system 7.1 I thought we were just limited to the printer port, but now I know about this extension (great!).

I Need to check the docs, I think it is disabled in software, there is a way to switch between the two but I don't remember right now.

I had a look in the Designing Cards book, and indeed there is a selector in hardware. I think there is a control panel that selects if to use the internal or external port?

That's my take on it... the PB is aware on the hardware level that a card is installed, and the internal port operates on the same channel as the external modem port, but you choose to use one or the other in the Powerbook control panel. But it's one or the other.
