The CPU itself works, but the Sonnett Extension required to enable the L2 cache is freakishly unstable (and I do have the latest from Sonnett's site). When I get more RAM I'll do a clean install of 8.6 and go from there.
I've got Sonnet's 466 version in Beater, my maxed out 1400c. IIRC, there was no extension necessary, I'm running 9.1 on the old WiFi Wanderer with no problems except except the weight & a measly 20-30 min battery life when the wind is JUST right. :
Hence, the HP Mini 1030NR with 2-3 hours of battery life! The whole shebang/bag, 2.3 lb, 10.1" LCD, NetBook, 5"x7" spiral notebook w/pen & pencil, MICROSCOPIC Belkin Mouse, Mousepad, my reading glasses-N-case and several letter size pages of to-do lists doesn't even hit 4 lbs on my diet scale!
That's less than the weight of my favorite PowerBook Duo 2300c all on it's ownsome. 8-o
The Night Stalker/WiFi Vagabond is running an XP NetBook! :I
