Yes, it varies. Some (non-SuperMac) cards hang on boot so they're fully incompatible. Some cards (like SuperMac) are just not fully configurable so they "work" but occasionally that can cause problems when you need to change the configuration .See my last reply - the card has rom 1.16. I've just been using it in 7.6 and the only issue I could see is that the options dialog of the Monitors control panel doesn't show any of the card options when using SuperVideo 3.1 control panel. However, older versions of the SuperVideo control panel seem to set the card options normally, so...
Even then, SuperMac cards can't change display resolutions on the fly on 7.5.2+ in my experience even though they advertise 7.5+ support for doing that...seems like it was promptly broken around when they got out of the card business.
FWIW I think you might need to use an earlier control panel with 1.16. I've never tried that but the READMEs imply it at any rate.
