Hi everyone,

I was looking to make a thread for all those who want to recap their Apple mouse, keyboard, floppy drive (external), etc.
I've looked inside my stuff to see what caps are in them, so here's the first lot of info:
=====================
ADB Mouse G5431 (USA)
-0.47uF, 50V, Axial
=====================
Apple Mouse M0100 (Japan)
-C1 47uF, 6.3V, 85°C
-C2 47uF, 6.3V, 85°C
=====================
AppleDesign Keyboard M2980 (Thailand)
-C3 22uF, 16V
-C6 1uF, 50V

I have the size and ratings for the caps on the Sony floppy drives, I just need to get them from my book.

Don't recap axials unless its needed. There are axials from the 70s and before working just fine. The mouse isn't exactly a high power, high heat working environment.

That's true. I thought it would be good to add it anyway as some people like to recap everything.

Generally, it is best to replace caps based on their condition, unless not replacing them will case damage. Every time you work on something there is a chance of something going wrong, or the new part being less good.

Old logic board SMD caps are the main exception (about 1988 to ~1994 atm, but moving forward) that basically just simply need recapping. But most old caps can be left alone unless / until there is a problem.

There are always people that argue against this by talking about examples that fall under the "condition" part of "replace most caps based on condition"... yes, if its failed, it might be the caps.

Some people... over do recapping.
