Hi Sorbet folks!
After WEEKS of trial and error, error and error I'm asking myself: Is it even possible to install Sorbet Leopard onto a RAID 0?
The story: I want to have a speedy RAID 0 as my main drive for my G5 Quad. I have two exact same SATA SSDs. Installing vanilla Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 is possible and runs perfectly fine.
But restoring Sorbet Leopard onto the RAID 0 constantly fails. It doesn't work if I use the Leopard install disk and restore Sorbet from a USB drive (restoring finishes, but the Quad won't boot up, it will show a stop sign after a few seconds of Apple logo while on boot-up). It doesn't work if I use a second Powermac G4 running 10.4.11 and put the G5 Quad in target mode (here it won't even finish restoring, disk utility will cancel after a while, saying some files were not found). Do I have to use Leopard on the G4 in order to restore the G5? I thought using 10.4.11 is fine.
At this point I'm thinking that Sorbet Leopard isn't compatible with being run on RAID 0. Am I right with this assumption?
