Anyone have issues booting Sorbet Leopard on a QS 02 G4?

Hey friends, I have a 2002 Quicksilver G4 with OS9. I have a separate partition I'd like to install Sorbet Leopard into. However, no matter what I've tried, I can't seem to boot into Sorbet Leopard. I even took the HD out, mounted it on my G5, and followed the instructions to copy over the Sorbet Leopard distribution (for lack of better term) but still cannot boot from that partition. It doesn't show up in the early boot menu and in OS9 I can't select it as a target disk.

Anyone have any ideas here?

The only thing I've done unique on this computer is a CPU swap. So I did the BIOS update to allow for this. But that's it.

how did normal Leopard run on the partition?Maybe your Sorbet install image is not ok?
I copied Sorbet on my PB G4 1,5 12" with CCC as recommended and without a problem, you need enough RAM for it for sure.

Thanks for your reply :) I never ran Leopard on that partition - I installed OS9 on a blank HDD and have an empty partition for Sorbet Leopard.

What's CCC?

CCC=CarbonCopyCloner, it also marks the partition as active afterwards, so it is bootable.
Theres a guide, you should use CCC for that as described.

Installation Guide

Zero. Using Disk Utility, prepare a 16 GB partition or larger using the Apple Partition Map partitioning scheme, formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).

One. Download and install Carbon Copy Cloner. Open Carbon Copy Cloner, and install the system to disk by navigating through Carbon Copy Cloner's user interface exactly as shown:

Two. Source: Restore from disk image...Sorbet Leopard R15.dmg

Three. Destination: (target partition)Handling of data already on the destination: Delete anything that doesn't exist on the sourceClone

Installation will take anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes depending on your hardware configuration. Once installed, you are then free to reboot into the new system whenever ready. Upon doing so, repair the system disk permissions (accessible via Disk UtilityRepair Disk Permissions) at your earliest convenience as the final step in the setup process.
