Greetings, I'm an old Mac head just saying hello. I started in the early days trying to shoehorn OSX onto beige Macs like the 8500 using Post Facto and went deep into the CPU upgrade cards and other shenanigans mostly SCSI fun back then until I moved into the fun world of SATA. Regardless, I still have a G4 AGP, MDD, and quad g5 all running. I decided to dust of the quad and put Sorbet Leopard into it and discovered the dev release of snow for PPC, so the rabbit hole is uncovered and im back to messing around with this stuff after a hiatus of many years. That is all for now for now, but the phrase "disable unit attention" has re emerged in my head for some reason.....see all you all around.

Afternoon :)

What do you use the G4s and G5 for? Work or play?
total play, the quad used to be my photoshop powerhouse when I was a photographer, but I worked for Apple after that as a lead genius. The quad just sat on my desk unused. The other 2 machines were my hack and slash fun builds to push the hardware.

Welcome! You may want to check this thread out: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?thr...-pump-cooling-system.37474/page-3#post-474682
Your quad has a nearly 20 year old liquid cooling system in it that’s likely in desperate need of maintenance, and even worse, if the liquid in it leaks, it’s not water. It’s this stuff called dexcool, and it’s extremely corrosive.
thanks, I will, I did examine it recently ands fingers crossed, no signs of leakage........yet ;)

Good :)
Get it taken care of, or one day you'll press the power button on your quad, and all of a sudden "POP" and then sadness.
