SE/30 PDS/NUBUS Adapter Project?.

Hello Members,

I have a NUBUS/PDS ADAPTER made by Apple in 1990, S/N 820-0305-0. It was pulled from a IIsi so I assume it's compatible to the SE/30.  Dr. Bunson tells me its not compatible, and I believe him.  I think it has something to do with usage of PDA pins and the unique design of the SE/30 PDA slot.  Does anyone have any knowledge of SE/30 PDS/NUBUS Adapter Project.     Thanks.

I think trash did a lot of work in this area and found the nubus adapter conflicts with the se/30 internal video, not to mention the se/30 already has an fpu, and having two don't jive. I can't find the thread right now on mobile, but give the search command a try.

I think you're confuzzling results from three distinct lines of research:

NuBus/PDS/PseudoSlot ID conflicts began to be explored over at ThinkClassic in:

Cloning the Daystar PDS Adapters for the IIsi and SE/30 - Take 2

This led to a more direct request for help in that effort and a summary of those results can be found in:

Are there Chips on your PowerCache Adapter? HELP REQUEST

I don't expect Slot ID conflicts to arise or too much in the way of PDS differentiation to make this one insoluble:

Project30 - IIsi NuBus adapter in SE/30 trials - Take 2

Then there's the intertwined project for both the SE/30 and IIsi:

TWO SLOT IIsi Nubus Card hack . . . Take 2

IOW, I've been poking about in this steaming pile of schiznit from many angles at once. ::)

p.s. de-soldering the IIsi NuBus Adapter's FPU is in the plan, as is exploring the possibility of excising much of the PCB real estate under and surrounding it for fitment purposes.
