Hi all new member to group I recieved free from a neighbor about a week or so ago 4 Macs I was very excited a Mac 840av,a Power mac 7600/120 a Performa 631cd and another performa. I wanted get these up and running they work fine but I had alot of trouble with downloading files as I had to do it on my PC which wouldn't work. Well after much effort research and help from groups I was able to get them online so I can download stuf I need for the things I want to do. I especially wanted to get the Quadra up because I heard such good things about it's audio video capabilities. I wan to use it to process my vinyl and 78's collection So I am very excited to be posting this from my Quadra! i had to tell someone? Now I am am a happy guy and off to happy Macdom

;D yeah me too, happily surfing editing video with premiere, watching films from my N95 phone plugged into the video input with fullscreen and making tunes on Logic audio 4 on an 840AV just like over 10 years ago, but the difference is now its got a 25" LCD screen running at max resolution on a radius video card, 2*2gig HD and 72 Megs of RAM, rocking setup.. had to tell someone as well.. 15 years on this machine still makes a great server and computer but it makes a hell of a racket (so i moved it next door and got some long cables..)

Nice blog there soundBringer. Welcome aboard to both of you.

Quadramac, you scored some nice hardware there. I couldn't imagine a better introduction to the retro Mac world than an 840 [:D] ]'> The 7600 and 631 (aka 630) are also pretty choice. Nifty. The 7600 has a slot CPU, so you can upgrade it to 200MHz, twin 200MHz, or a G3 for pretty cheap. The 630 is a good all-round 68k machine.

What was the second Performa? Another 63x?
