Powerbook 5300ce power supply

I am working on my old 5300ce which has the shaky old power supply problem that is endemic to the 190-5300 models.  I vaguely remember that there was a PCMCIA card that one could use to power the computer instead.  Does anyone remember this or is my memory playing me false?  Thank you.

I believe there was multibay power supply that went in place of the floppy drive, but from what I can tell those are quite uncommon.

Power Adapter 5000

Model EBAD5000

There's a thread somewhere about mine. Thingamajigger released its magic smoke and blew the fuse. If you can't find the thread with those search terms here, try 'em on Google.

ISTR something about a hack replacing that horrible connector with the Duo type and power supply, but that's a bit hazy.

I have the VST expansion bay power supply module for my 5300ce.
I read in the Dev Notes that it was possible to power the computer through the expansion bay. I never knew anybody actually made an internal power supply though; I figure they would do an extended battery at best.

That said, there were MO drives available. I need one of those more than an internal power adapter.

To fix the original power adapter, assuming nothing is broken except solder joints, a fairly high-wattage (35-50W range) soldering iron, new solder, and some patience are all that's required.
