Picked up the performa 550  EvilCapitalist linked to in the ebay thread. I live near by so i was able to pick it up without having it shipped.

Works great and not too dirty. Still had HDD with games like spectre and a non-working mario teaches typing.

weird ram at 5MB. 4 on board, 1 in slot.

Its a cute little machine. I'm thinking about putting  //e card in there.

Very cool, the 550 is a great 68030 machine!  Definitely an interesting RAM amount.  Workable for 7.1, but the machine is really capable with a 32mb stick installed to bring it to 36mb total.  7.5.5 and 7.6.1 become viable options.  Also, depending on what games and software you plan on running and FPU can provide a little boost as well.

Never played with the IIe card, or any Apple II software.  Always seemed neat though, good luck :)

Glad to hear that machine went to a good home!  Echoing just.in.time, the Performa 550 works well in 7.5.5 and 7.6.1 and is comfortable enough stock that you wouldn't have to play card swapper between an accelerator and a //e card.  You should be able to snag a 32MB SIMM for it (72 pin FPM) for under $10 shipped.  If it's not already on your list of to-do items for the machine, definitely get the motherboard recapped as you're on borrowed time with the original caps on there.
