Macintosh IIci Logicboard recreation

Excited to see this come together, I've got a maxell bombed IIci that's probably beyond saving. I find it amazing that the community is still so alive to make things like these recreations happen.

Board has been assembled and.....

Booted almost the first time, I made two small assembly errors (swapped two transistors and rotated a 26LS30 90 degrees form where it should be) and the crystal for the audio circuit was bad. No changes where made to the board to get it to boot :)

after a little more assembly:

Boots from SCSI, ADB works, all 8 SIMM slots work. That'll do for today, will fully test the board tomorrow

WOW! That's amazing. I'll be in line for one of these. I have a really crunchy batter bombed IIci that I am trying to resurrect but I have my doubts it will work. The IIci is the first work computer we had back in the day and we're really nostalgic about it. I'd love to build a working one.

Wow, I love this. We done Max. Once you make available I will get some as I have like 4 boards here that are not working needing a transfer.

@max1zzz Are you going to be selling them? If so, when you do an order for the finalized board, will you be doing other colors like white or black? Also, I'd pay a little extra to have the tiny resistors, transistors, etc. pre-placed. Then leave all the big stuff to transfer.

There seems to be quite a bit of interest so I will likely do at least one run, In terms of colours I really want to get some made with clear solder resist and a black base material (Like OSHPark's "After Dark" boards) But I'm currently waiting to hear back from PCBway on if that's possible
Otherwise I guess I'll take a poll if interested people and see what the most popular is

I am intending to get future boards at least partially PNP assembled, probably just the bottom birdseed but I might looks at getting the small actives on the top PNP'd too depending on cost

I had a quote back form PCBWay, $2300 for 5! yeah I think I'll pass on that. Will have to go for a normal colour.
So for those interested, what colour would you like? I will probably only do a single colour so I'll go with whichever is most popular

The boards have now been fully tested and work just fine :) Only issues with them where one slotID pin on one NuBus connector which was connected to ground when it should have been floating but that was noting a 1.5mm drill bit couldn't fix. Also the aliment holes for the interrupt / reset switches are missing along with one of the ones for the audio connector but these are not big issues as you can just snip them off
All will be corrected in the next revision

If anyone wants a board now I still have 2 board from the original test batch which I am happy to sell on at cost + shipping

Will you create a PNP and BOM file for them also so that they come with bottom side mostly populated :)?

I have PNP data already made :) Didn't do it with the test batch as it adds quite a lot to the prove for a small run, will likley do it for the next run

Nice! Yeah, that makes a lot sense :). This is gonna be really awesome! IIci are definitely worth saving!

Right, Have made the necessary alterations to the board and am having a look at getting a run made
Purple seems to be the most popular colour so we will be going with that

Do you guys want them with the bottom birdseed PNP assembled? Doing some rough pricing you would probably be looking at £60 - £70 each with the birdseed PNP'd or around £30 - £40 each unasembled

I was hoping to get these ordered this month but my projects budget ended up being eaten elsewhere
All being good they will be sent off for production at the beginning of next month

Once I have the boards and have verified the revised version is OK I'll contact everyone who has expressed interest
I'll also be posting the designs on my github page once this is done :)
