Mine needs a keyboard. This looks like it is for a Duo but...It looks light colored and the keys are all different. Could this be for a mac portable?

The Key Matrix connections say: Duo

The generally flimsy construction agrees.

Portable KBD = full travel semi clickey key switches = not a chance

The Color says: Paladin, but no Function Key Row and the retutn key is waaay too narrow.

The return key says: very strange

Searching says: Apple Part # D661-1652 APPLE GERMAN KEYBOARD

jt says: go for it! :approve:

Got it! Thanks for the insight. The up and down arrows look easier to play games with than my current arrangement. My caps lock and shift key on the left side is dead. All the other keys are super plushy, much more than normal. The picture must just have some funky colors..The thing looks off-white.

My girlfriend just pointed out the difference between the German one and mine. Some of the letters are ass-backwards. I'm sure it will function just fine with the US keyboard setting...I hope :?: how often does one find a new Duo keyboard? Never!

Hey thanks much for looking, but I just purchased this one. I'll post a pic after it arrives and is transplanted.

I seem to recall that the European keyboards had a much lighter gray color, more inline with the platinum color of the desktops and not the darker gray of the Duos

I'm interested in the Duo keyboard as long it's not a white German one and all the keys still work.

I have one beyond repair in my Duo 250 with 2 broken traces in the connector wires.

I guess those euro keyboards were a lot brighter than I thought. Still looks pretty interesting. Should be here in a few days. Too bad mine is junk, I'd give it away but it has dead keys too..

Well the keyboard arrived sooner than expected. Probably less than half the keys work :( I realized I might have a problem when I saw the keyboard looked used. Why would a used keyboard be in an Apple service box? Hmmm...It was a replaced one which should have been TOSSED! That's ok, let this be a lesson. Don't get fussy over a dead caps lock and look at the glass half full :) back to the old

Dead Caps Lock Key?!? 8-o

That's not a half full glass . . . that's a case of fine wine with a side of Baccarat Crystal! :approve:

I'm sure I've got a couple of extra spongeboards somewhere around here, even swap for the German KBD and some token trade for the other one, shipping's a wash!

LMK ;)
