Powerbook 180 video -> vga -> hdmi setup

Hey there all. I'm doing a few vintage computing demos in about a month, and I'd like to hook my Powerbook 180 up to an HDMI monitor. So far I just have the video connector to mac video adapter, but I imagine I need two more steps to get there. In the interest of not spending too much time/money tinkering, was wondering if anybody had specific low-cost suggestions?

There are many of this style of dip switch adapter on ebay, this one has dip position documentation and some good reviews. After that, I'm not sure how forgiving VGA -> HDMI adapters are, and I bet it varies wildly. Are there any fairly inexpensive ones folks have had good luck with? I don't care too much about latency etc, but a nice sharp image would be nice? Something with integer scaling would be ideal, seems like 640x480 x2 would be a good fit on a 1080p monitor? But I'd really settle for anything that'd let me play around with 8bit color.

Thanks a lot!
