Does anyone know where you can get one of these cables? I found some modules I wanted to buy but they don't come with cables, I can hack something together but it would be nice if i could find something that was more legit I'd even settle for any cable or adapter I could buy to cut and splice onto a regular molex I can't seem to find anything that is the same size as the small end.

someone will need to confirm, but from your picture it appears to be a 2-pin micro JST connecter.
not sure how easy getting a pre-made cable will or won't be, its more common to find pc power cable adaptors with 4 pin (adding the extra and and +12) then just the 2 pin variety.
and the cables I see most often that only have a 2 pin connecter are usually connected to the 12v side and also use much different male connects.

I guess my question would be what your skillset is and what tools you have available. if you can solder or have the correct crimping tools there are a few different ways to make you own cables and have it still look tidy and professional

though having said all that im sure if anyone on here knows where to buy these specific pre-made cables then they'll let you know

You can buy pre-crimped JST cables from china pretty cheaply so you could always splice one of those with the socket form a mole to sata adapter. It's just a matter of figuring out exactly which JST variant it uses as there is a bunch of differen't ones

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I still have no idea what size that connector is, but I scoured through my junk collection and was able to find some random cable from who knows what that I had taken apart, ages back and it was a fit, so I spliced that onto a molex connector from ages ago as well and I am in business.

And I let out the magic smoke. I neglected to crack open the case on one of these I bought that did not come with a cable and assumed it was the same as the others I had. Turns out it was indeed not power and ground were flippped and I had a fun smoke show. Fortunately nothing else appears to be damaged with my actual machine and I learned a lesson. :)

I don't understand why everything like that doesn't have polarity protection.
