Free Clamshell iBook!

Someone posted in my town Google group that they had a "blue iMac laptop" that they were going to throw away unless anyone wanted it. When I saw the message, I immediately responded that I did. It ended up being a 366 MHz indigo, and although it was a little bit dirty, it cleaned up to near mint condition! The Apple logo has the leaf, and the CD drive still has the cover. I also got the original yoyo charger, which works, as well as a really cool bag that looks like an indigo G3 (its really dirty though, so I'll have to work on cleaning it up). I wiped it and put a fresh install of 9.2.1 and Tiger on it.

Unfortunately, the battery doesn't work at all, so this week I'll have to try and revive it. But that's not really a big deal, since I'll mostly have it set up on my desk. I've wanted one of these laptops for years, so I'm super thrilled to finally have one!

Saw this on /r/VintageApple subreddit a couple of minutes ago. I'll echo what everyone else has been saying, it is a really nice find! I thought I was lucky finding an iBook Clamshell 466 in Graphite for $25 with the same accessories you got. I have the same thing with the battery. I even recelled mine last year and it looks like it gave up when in storage. I tried that Battery Updater but it only works with the M2453 models, so M6411 owners are out of luck when it comes to that type of reset. 

Good luck getting it all back up to spec!

Congrats on the find!  You certainly can't beat the low price of free for a nice looking Indigo Clamshell, especially when it's in good shape after a cleaning and came with a case that you don't see very often anymore.

Great find! I have a Tangerine iBook G3 which I bought in ~2003 from an ex-girlfriend, along with a form-fitted Kensington carrying bag. It's not a super powerful machine anymore, but it's so much fun to pull out - it's probably among Apple's most whimsical designs ever ('whimsy' being a design aesthetic which is notably lacking from their current style-guide) and the few times I've taken it to our local coffee shop or to my office, it immediately drew happy and excited reactions from everyone nearby.

I always liked those cases that looked like the iBook.  This is a fantastic deal.  I am trying to collect all the colored iBooks in mint shape.  Half way there...

I have collected all of them, and while most aren't in mint shape cosmetically (of the lot, my Key Lime is the closest to mint), they all work perfectly.

If you need an Indigo, I have an extra which was an impulse buy.

Sad though to see that someone was going to just trash it... Then again, the 1400, iMac G4, and PM7200 I got was gonna be trashed.
