If it's local pickup yes. The monitor and Hayes Smartmodem alone are pretty nice to have.

I dunno, $100 seems a little steep to pay for a dose of hantavirus, but I guess there's enough there for the whole family.

Yea, I do want a complete PS/2 system one day. but nooooot this one....
my first "usable" computer was a model 30 complete system. with an Epson RS-80 printer. Now, my very first computer was the IBM 5155 but I couldnt really "use" it persay. the PS/2 i could, came complete with working HDD and telex, which I used to dial into BBSes and get games.
dad bought an entire shelf of shareware and other floppy disk based games when walmart was clearing them out. 75 cents a piece. Those were the days.

Thats not as bad as one time as a kid, out camping with my aunt and uncle, I lost my shoe in the shitter. it was one of those outhouses where it runs into a large underground tank instead of a regular flush toilet.
yea... that was fun. LOL my aunt hated me for life. my uncle had to grab the fishing pole to get it out, and my aunt cleaned it out. I didnt have any other shoes so I was pretty much stuck.

I used to work in computer repair, I remember getting one computer clogged with cat hair. Literally clogged...it was nasty.
The MBA I got had dog hair all under the keyboard. Hard to remove from under those keys too...

I get laptops all the time with clogged heatsinks, which I am sure it has alot to do with early motherboard failure.
I used to do service with a rental company, ColorTyme, and I got laptops left and right that would spontaneously die, or shutdown. Take it apart, and I get an 8th inch think layer of gunk on the heatsink.

I really should have worn a HAZ-MAT particulate filter mask today when I blew out my brand new to me $4 Dell-Hell-Dimension 4100. I've NEVER seen such gobs of dust in a machine . . . ever!
Be that as it may: just how far away from salt or brackish water and spray is it even possible to place a barn on that postage stamp size state?

This was a desktop that was clogged with cat hair. Increases the quantity significantly.
As for laptops, that's why I like the Unibody designe MacBooks (all models), removing the bottom panel is easy and you can get the dust out then.

There's an SE and a IIvx here. (There's also a second SE, which I parted out). Both the SE (with the blue light) and IIvx are parts of my arsenal of Macs to this day, with the SE used on a regular basis by students I work with. Both got cleaned up and the IIvx looks almost new.
I'd buy that PS/2 if I could just to show what a great machine it could be with a little love.

I've been wanting to buy one of those data vacs to use for blowing stuff out instead of buying the throwaway cans, I just haven't done it yet. But I certaintly have enough stuff that needs it...

I see this a lot. People put pricey items for sale and don't even bother to wipe them off with a bit of Windex or alcohol. If you are going to ask $100 for a computer, the least you could do is wipe it off! Taking a few minutes to clean it up a bit not only means a quicker sale, but you could also get more money for it.

@ SuperToaster: The Dimension 4100 cleaned up rather nicely, I installed a Zip100, played a bit of mix-n-match with parts from the older XPS D333 to get a complete unit together and it now has a fresh trial install of '98 on the D333's HDD using the COA/Key plastered to its side door. Mostly it's a dedicated ROM-Burner Workstation with a Quadra kissy-face FDD opening. It's growin' on me . . .
