Black line across the middle of a PowerBook 150 screen

Hello,

I just bought this off a Swiss ebay-like, and it's arrived with this strange black line across the middle of the screen. It's one pixel high and appears to be always present. However, it occasionally shows oddly bright pixels (look at where the window borders cross it). This doesn't look like a bad cable as it's only showing up for one scanline, but the position between the two halves of the screen is very very suspicious.

I don't have any experience with classic Macs --- this was supposed to be the machine that did that for me! Is this a common problem, and is it easily fixable?

The machine was described as having a flawless screen (or rather, an einwandfre bilschirm, as it's a German model), so either the seller was wrong or something's happened in transit, and if I'm going to have to dispute this I'd appreciate some advice as I have no idea what this signifies.

Thanks!

Is this something that could plausibly have happened during shipping?
... yes, considering the age and fragility of the display - what appears to be the fault in the dead centre of the display might be related to the ribbon cable of the controller that services the top and bottom half of the display.

However, if you bought it as perfect and it was advertised as such, don't delve into it, seek to discuss with the seller.  The PowerBook 150 was essentially a very low end model, was cheap and reliable so if the display is hosed you could probably find a replacement cheaply enough.
