VESA mount for 20" iMac 8,1 and 9,1?

Curious if anyone has ever managed to install a VESA mount on these models. My research indicates that, while the larger models were "easily" upgradeable to a VESA mount, the 20" models require complete (?) disassembly of the unit to remove the stand. Anyone have experience with this? Alternatively, anyone have the larger models for sale?

Yeah; I've installed a VESA mount on an 8,1 -- and to do it, I disassembled the unit to remove the stand. I seem to recall that AFTER I did this, someone created a VESA adapter that incorporated the stand.
