Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh Base/SUB Broken Post Fix

As most of you are aware the posts for that little hat at the top of the sub for the TAM break almost certainly when you go to recap or repair them. As such I've designed these little post fusers that allow the two pieces to join as they should. They were designed with the intention to have just enough wiggle room to be removed if ever need be again. However, if you were to add glue in either of the ends, this would be a permanent repair option. Hope you all enjoy, please do let me know if any of you do end up printing these and if you do, please share a photo. I've attached the Thingiverse link below.

That's awesome, thanks for designing and sharing. A job I'm not looking forward to one day, so far my TAM sub works fine without issue.

Thanks, first prototype had some weird issues but this model is dialed in now. Really happy with how it turned out.

Love this. Mine has just been sitting on there wit ha bit of double sided tape. However, I struggled to get a good fit. I think two reasons. One, the adapters weren't sitting perfectly straight because I printed supports (my printer cannot print bridges terribly well) and I think the left over supports up in the cavity caused it to sit at a slight angle. Second, the mesh piece on mine was too tight a fit and was causing them to not line up as needed.

So, I made a slight variation of this with a flared top to help guide the posts into their openings. I also cut some relief cuts into the mesh piece to allow them to have more wiggle room.

I'll try to get some pictures of it in place tomorrow. But here's the Thingiverse link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7134069

Thanks for putting this together. I think a lot of people could use this!

Awesome, everyone has different 3D printers so I can see how different applications and print types can apply, I didn’t have issues with mine but it’s awesome you made a remix as well. That’s fantastic
