Price is, of course, pretty darn high, but the coolness factor is off the charts. :)

Pretty cool! I was expecting the price to be higher actually, it's just over $300 so far. We'll have to see what the final bid ends at in just under a day. If I didn't have to spend money on all these bills I'd consider it. Being a grown up isn't as cool as I pictured it when I was 12. Although I can have candy bars and ice cream for dinner! And I don't have to sneak in when I get home late... |)

I think a current manufacturer should make an external drive where you can see the guts of the hard drive. Surprised we didn't see that in the iMac G3 era.

Seller states it's not an HD20 or SCSI but seems certain enough about this that he didn't bother to show the connector it uses...

I doubt this was for a Lisa. Even at the end of the Lisa's life it was still using the much larger twiggy drives.

Of course, the apple nuts need to waste their money on something...

Winning bid: US $1,281.00 8-o

Expensive for a drive of unknown condition and unknown connections... Still cool though. Hey, to each their own, right?

It almost looks like it has the same footprint as a compact Mac. Too bad we don't have any dimensions for it. The connector next to the power cord almost looks like a HDI-30 SCSI plug, but I can't tell. Could be something experimental, maybe it's WOZZI? (Woz Obscure Zoom-Zoom Interface...OK I made this up, but it made me chuckle at least!)

I'm pretty sure it's just a bubble that will pop eventually. Then us normal Apple collectors can go back to buying things on eBay. I should probably cash in on this and sell everything with "~~~ STEVE JOBS!!! ~~~ * APPLE * ~~~RARE!!! L@@K! ~~~" in the title when it's just a common Spindler era LC III.

The bubble has already burst. I have been trying to sell simple items (ie. PB 190C) for $20 + shipping without any luck.

Its only the old compacts and rare prototypes that sell for a ton.

from the absence of any external connection (other the the power plug) I would think this is a mechanical sample, to verify the plastic mounting holes line up and electronics fits with proper clearance.

I think there's something next to the power plug, I was asking about it in an earlier post. Could be a switch. It is a prototype, so it's a gamble if it is or ever was functional. Even if it was it could be a proprietary interface made of unobtainium.

Its a cool idea making totally translucent electronics, but unfortunately the FCC likes its RF shielding. > :(

I like this "Case Molding Prototype" if you can call it that.

Funny enough, I actually own one of these drives.. bare. I bought it a year ago on eBay.. I though I had been swindled as there is absolutely nothing about the NISHA anywhere to be found.

Obviously it's something very special.. I really should see if I can work it out, but I am worried about damaging it because of it's a weird interface.
