OK. I have recently set up a virtual machine running Windows 2000 Server on my 7 machine. It has all of the Mac File/Print Server features installed, as well as a redirection system to my LJ4L consisting of Redmon and GSPrint (anyone familiar with Mac printing via Windows should know what I'm talking about) in32 error code returned by the print processor: 13
Two mac's: my iMac Rev A and my Powerbook 1400c, are networked with this virtual machine. They can access shared volumes no trouble.
The problems come in with the actual printing. The iMac, once a job is submitted, beams off the PS code in no more than a few seconds. The Windows VM picks it up, converts using GS, relays it to the actual LJ4L driver, where the document is then successfully printed. In others words, it's all good.
The Powerbook, which uses the same version of Mac OS (8.6) and Laserwriter 8 (8.6.5) has trouble printing. When the doc is submitted the print monitor will report that it is "starting job" and then "Spooling to ." Around this time GSPrint activates (as it should), but beyond this point the entire print process stalls. The Powerbook just sits there (sometimes giving the job a second try, to no avail) and ultimately displays error 8993. On the flipside, Windows VM in the Even Viewer reports that the document submitted by the powerbook failed to print: "Win32 error code returned by the print processor: 13." According to Microsoft, error 13 means that the data was invalid, which would indicate that PS code was being send to, for example, a PCL or RAW printer. However, that's not the case, as the iMac has absolutely no trouble sending off the data.
What have I done wrong?
