LC III Help!

First of all I'm a total noob when it comes to vintage Mac's and I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me.  I have a Mac LC III that I purchased on ebay a couple of years ago.  I was in the process of upgrading it when I ran into a roadblock.  This is what I have added to the stock LC III:

32mb ram upgrade

MC68882FN16A Motorola Math Coprocessor 32 bit

256k vram

Farallon PDS Ethernet card

AppleCD 300.

SCSI Terminator for the AppleCD

Everything works on my LC except for the last two.  The ethernet card and AppleCD just will not work.  I'm sure this is because the floppy drive on the LC would not read the disks that came with the ethernet card and the AppleCD original factory disk.  So far the only disk i've been able to get the drive to read has been the disk from SimCity that I purchased.  I would think that the floppy drive is bad, except it will read the SimCity disk EVERY time I insert it.  But it will not read any other disks.  Any suggestions?

First of all - Has the LCIII been recapped - it needs doing otherwise you'll have issues with sound and SCSI chips - it'll shorten it so get it recapped.

AppleCD - which model? It may need recapping in the CD drive. Ensure the SCSI ID isn't conflicting with the main HDD?

Ethernet card - picky - some you need correct drivers/extensions for it to work. Are you able to take a photo of the card and we may be able to help.

Cheers

AP

To my knowledge, nothing has been recapped.  None of the capacitors look bulged or leaky inside the LC.. it actually looks brand new inside (don't know if that makes a difference).  The CD ROM drive is an external AppleCD 300.  The drive powers on and accepts/ejects the caddy.  I tried to play an audio CD, when the caddy loads, the light on the front lights up solid green and stays that way.  I have an SCSI terminator on the bottom plug.  I can hear the CD spin up but nothing happens after that.  There is a picture of the Farallon ethernet card attached.
