ZuluSCSI doesn't fit into my Centris 650 rear SCSI port

I received my ZuluSCSI today and tried using it with some images. It looks like it doesn't fit into the rear SCSI port. The underside of the resin case bumps into the surrounding plastic bezel.

I remove the ZuluSCSI's case and was able to insert the board into the reard SCSI connector, but now the board's connector pins are bumping into plastic bezel.

This seems like a really poor design. Did I miss something? Does it fit better into other machines?

That’s a tight fit!

The 650 series has a lip on the case by the ports which wasn’t present on most (perhaps all) prior Macs. That’s unfortunate the Zulu external wasn’t designed with that in mind.

Not enough clearance for the case. I use an external DB25 SCSI cable basically treating it like an external hard drive which works great.

Same for the external SCSI2SD. They are not made exclusively for Macs, but my external SCSI2SD fits fine into a Q700/Q650 with the top case still on but the bottom piece removed. I guess the ZuluSCSI is a bit different.

You could get a DB25 to DB25 cable to use it with instead.

"Gender benders" and cables. I ordered both from Amazon after my post last night. (y)

If Rabbit Hole Computing couldn't design around this, then I wish they would have mentioned this in big and bold letters on their website. I would have bought a cable and one of those quasi "gender benders" from their site if they offered for a only a dollar or two more.

Anyways, its scheduled to arrive this weekend.

The DB25 on your ZuluSCSI a female end or male? When I ordered mine, it was supposed to be female, which was the only option. It came with a male end, though.

I just bought a simple 50-pin to DB25F adapter.
