WHY WHY WHY

Well now the Q800 Death chimes.

The Mint well kept Q800, is acting stupid.

Lobo out of the case- proper bong

Lobo in the case- Death chimes

I changed the ram, removed all nubus cards.

and still death chiming

Sometimes cables, cards and SIMMs can become dislodged, which could cause problems. I've found that in 80 percent of cases when soemthing stops working, taking it apart and re-assembling it does the trick.

 
Have you checked all the electrolytics and tested the power supply rails. Dirty power or bulging capacitors can cause system crashes or failures to boot.

Logic board outside of case: unstressed by cables or mounting points.

Logic board inside of case: opposite.

Death chimes mean that it is trying to boot. Think SCSI.
