Quadra 700 death chime with Powermac upgrade card enabled

The service source manual for the PPC upgrade card suggests clearing the pram if there are boot problems, so I did so.
Were you able to zap pram without removing the card first?
On mine it doesn't respond to cmd-opt-p-r once the card is enabled but I can take the card out, zap pram and then I can insert the card again and it will keep booting in 68k mode until I toggle the ppc card back on.

It sounds like maybe I should try enabling the card from other MacOS versions and see if that makes any difference to what gets stored in the pram config.

I honestly can't remember if I was able to do it with the card installed or not, but it shouldn't matter, it's only if there is some existing saved configuration data that there is a problem, and clearing the pram in any case should ensure that is not so.

I don't want to lead you down the wrong path - if it won't respond to the key combo with the card installed then it seems likely that there is a different issue...
