SE/30 fails to boot known-good floppies

So I have a Mac Plus which came with a ton of floppies, and I have an SE/30 that I recently recapped. I've been trying some of the floppies in the SE/30. It can boot a disk labeled "Macintosh System Tools Version 2.0" just fine, but most other disks fail to boot. For instance, my Hitchhiker's Guide disk will show a happy mac, then the Infocom splash screen, then a bomb dialog: "Sorry, a system error occurred." When I boot it on the internal drive, the message says ID = 01. When I use an external 800K drive, it says ID = 10.

These floppies which are failing to boot have been verified to work on the Mac Plus. I haven't tried every bootable disk I have yet, but so far only one has booted. The Mac Plus software sampler, HHGTTG, and MS Flight Sim have all failed.

Any ideas? Apologies if this should have gone in the software forum instead.

Which System versions are on these disks? The Plus and SE can start up from earlier Systems, whereas the SE/30 cannot. From what I saw online, 6.0.3 is the earliest System it can start from.

Ah, that would make sense. I'd have to set up the Plus again to double check, but I'm pretty sure a lot of these disks are pretty old.
