hi again,
sorry for leaving some posts unreplied, i had a harsh time during holidays.
soo.. i finally traded my macbook for a powerbook g4 15" 1.5 ghz. it is the one without sms. the advantage is that it has a region-free dl dvd-rw and came with 1.5 gigs of ram, so i will not have to spend lots of money on upgrades.
i would like to ask some things about it though,
i have noticed that there is only one fan spinning on the left side. istat pro reports realistic speeds for the left one, but the right one stays at 0 rpm. is this normal? i think it should have two fans, but not sure..
other thing is that with tiger it runs extremely well (even the single fan is mostly silent and in some cases it outperforms my former macbook - though that may be because of me running risc-friendly processes). but it hates leopard.. my quicksilver is 'stunningly fast' (to quote steve) with leo despite it is only 867 mhz, but the powerbook is constantly spinning the fan, uses the cpu between 60% and 80% with only system processes (and no spotlight indexing) and so on.. should i stay with tiger or what do you think, is there any chance that 10.5.2 will fix this? or am i doing something completely wrong?
thanks
