Powerbook 160 does not fall asleep

Hi, I'm running a Powerbook 160 off its PSU. It's set to sleep after 8 or so minutes. The screen dims, the hard drive turns off... all good... but my little friend does want to go to sleep. Hm. What am I doing wrong? System 7.1 with update 3.0. Thanks!

Solved. The culprint seems to be After Dark which keeps the machine awake. When I set AD to engage after 9 min, while the computer is set to fall asleep after 8 min, it does fall asleep. Strange.

Reopened. The culprit is not After Dark. Rather, when I have MacWrite Pro (1.5v1) running, the poor machine never falls asleep. Is that only my install (System 7.1 with update 3.0) or is this a known issue between MacWrite and early powerbooks (and systems)? I can't find any relevant info on the web. Thanks for letting me know!

I‘ve removed SndControl and replaced it with SoundMaster. This allows the machine to fall asleep. Strangely, After Dark interferes with Sleep as well - is there an AfterDark version wich allows 1xx Powerbooks to fall asleep?
