Thanks for the info, DR.B! Dunno, it seems like mine is about maxed out already, just another full size stick of DRAM seems like all I need.
As far as the WS goes, I can always pull the PCMCIA Card outta' Beater and stick it into Beater II, if both the Pismo and Flush-a-Book™ go down for the count as backups for HP_Mini, who's unsurprisingly, way faster than the Pismo for W3 access!
But what do want out of a nine year older 'Book that'll play DVDs letterboxed on its BIG@$$ LCD that's wider . . .

Can a Chiplet be hacked into that cubic to run off the slot or will it need to be hot-wired to USB? }

I have seen several pages where people have tricked an Orinoco .11b PCMCIA card to work in there. It's a bit of hackery, but it can be done, and it shows up as an Airport card in software. Connecting via USB won't give you much joy - it's USB 1.1 only.
Here's a third party Cardbus card which supports something called "Super G", whatever that is.

What product will you use to clean it? (The rubber on the top case).
I've tried cleaning the rubber of my Pismo topcase, but can't find a good product to get mine clean...
I'll take a picture of it, to compare it to the eBay picture

Super G was a proprietary protocol created by Atheros that used channel bonding in order to give 802.11G twice the range and twice the speed (although not at the same time). The 2x speed part only worked if you had a card based on the Atheros chipset as well as a router based on the same chipset.
I had a card and a router based on that chipset about 5 years ago. It was great, I easily got 2-3x the range of standard 802.11g at that time. The speed fluctuated wildly but that wasn't really too much of a problem. It easily beat out every other router I owned until my current Cisco that is based on the final 802.11n spec. However, it did not play nicely with Broadcom chipsets of that era and absolutely despised Intel based cards of that era as well.

I'm not worried about an ersatz AirPort card, but if (gotta find, print out and have bound the UserManual & DevNote PDFs!) the second slot is underneath the PC Card Slot, the only place that makes sense to me, it'd be excellent to plug in my wireless mouse's MicroDongle without needing to open and close the back door . . . Is that with or without pushing the button?
The lights should be about the same as on the WallStreet. When the laptop is charging from a completely dead state, the single light will flash, eventually going solid, finally followed by the other lights in progression.
If you only see the flashing lights when pressing the button (while plugged in), then assume that the battery is getting power, but not taking a charge.

Thanks, comrades. I just wanted to be sure it wouldn't suffer a catastrophic failure while charging inside my new Pismo!
BTW, comrade, j, I haven't forgotten your request, but I've yet to locate and re-box/organize all my Duo parts. I'll have my eyes open . . .

A bit off topic here, but just wanted to sing the praises of Pismo durability.
Got rear-ended while trying to make a left turn in my Honda Civic Tuesday night. Fairly hard hit - she was going about 15-20 mph, I'm guessing. Airbags did not deploy but close. Lots of damage to the bumper and trunk. As I surveyed the damage and tried to be civil, I remembered - oh shoot, backpack is still in the trunk with the Pismo in it. I was able to get in from the fold down seat and lo and behold, the Pismo was just fine. Being in a Brenthaven backpack probably didn't hurt, but I was glad not to have a broken Pismo to compound my woes.
I've had some good Apple hardware, some flaky, but the Pismos seem to be top of the heap!
