Performa 6115CD from Dog Cow free giveaway

I finally had some time to work on the Performa 6115CD that I got from Dog Cow for the price of driving about 75 miles, round trip.  I have a few other extras (cables, Gravis mouse stick, original stylewriter and a few other items) that I got, but I wanted to post my progress on this one.

No HD, No CD and 16MB of memory, but it had a clean, if yellowed chasis and no broken plastics (intact feet!).

I recapped the MB (it just makes sense to do this before they go bad anymore) added in a 500MB HD, a CD, and a 128MB stick (EveryMac reports that you can add 2 64MB for 136 total, so I will have to see if  any memory issues develop, since I am above that).  I installed 7.6.1 on it and played around a bit with some MS apps, but I haven't done too much else, as yet.  I haven't hooked up the ethernet connection yet, but it runs nicely so far.

It is a bit bigger than what I like to work with (I prefer compacts and the Q605, and the II/IIX/IIFX, which can stand on one side), but it has a CD and PowerPC, which opens up some of the later software.

Thanks again Dog Cow, for passing this along.

136MB works really well in the 61xxs.  I ran that amount of memory in my 6150 for quite a while.  I've seen reports that 264MB of memory also works.
