Macintosh Portable (backlit) video fun

So i've continued work on my Portable (backlit), getting all the plastics cleaned up, etc. It's been booting fine, but now the it is having trouble that started with the backlight and now is causing general video problems. I've removed the ribbon cable and there appears to be a small break in the inside curve of the lower, last bend.

Any options other than replacement? I guess I could try this, but it'd be ugly for several lines...

the display cable had developed a crack right were the cable leaves the screen off to the LB. I could see there was a thick trace, that was right on the edge were the crack was, just to be sure i ran a wire wrap line all the way from the display connector to the inverter connector

as what i said in your quote there...

run the wrap, then dab GOOP all around the break(front and back), and you will be good to go.

Don't like the look of the black marks. I'm thinking the crack caused a short.

So it looks like pins 1+2 are combined as well as 7+8. Based on that and the thickness of the combined trace, i assume one is power and one is ground, but I haven't metered it out yet.

Turns out that the pin 1+2 and pin 3 were broken, so just two wires to patch, and it now works. Just need to tidy things up to finish.
