Just finished cleaning off my latest find: An original Mac, upgraded a bit. This is my first pre-90's Macintosh, and I'm quite happy! Paid $40 for it, though it doesn't come with a keyboard or mouse (so I'm looking for those, if anyone has one - see trading post!)
Looks quite clean, very little yellowing. Boots up nicely, but I don't have systems disks or anything yet. I'll need to make some I suppose, since buying them seems quite expensive. Screen is nice and bright, crisp. Very satisfied, and the guy was very nice too!
Turns out he and some friends went out in June 1984 and bought some Macs. He has had it ever since, and had been using it as a bookend. Sometime in the later 80's he had it upgraded somehow in a computer shop in California where he lived at the time. You can see in the 2nd photo there is an extra port on the back, looks like parallel/SCSI/something? Not too familiar with these. He thought the memory had been upgraded as well, but I don't have a way to check that yet.
According to the serial number, sounds about right as far as when he bought it. Anyways, happy with my new Mac and hopefully I'll get some peripherals soon.
