Hey all, trying to sell of large numbers of excess mac's and that means fixing large numbers of macs.

Other than having not a single Classic work yet it's been pretty fun.

I brought out another 2 Se's today after the ones I sold to fix, and the 2nd had a 00000001 0000FFFF error.

And a Se/30 upgrade card from Novy (willing to trade this, dont really have a use for it :p ).

Anyway I cleaned off the board and no dice. So I had a go at reading the roms, and one of them turned out to be bad...

How does a mask rom even fail ?

Anyway I burned a replacement rom in its place and now everythings fine.

Attached are the rom files if anyone wants to use them. :) :) :)

I have seen an SE on more than 1 occasion with bad ROMs, and a plus or two.

FWIW, I have a 128K Mac that's been upgraded with a Levco Monster Mac card, and the Mac Plus ROMs... that wouldn't boot. At first I thought it was the EPROMs on the Monster Mac card that had died (they were found to be missing the UV shielding cover that keeps them from being slowly erased), but it turned out to be the mask ROMs on the main Logic Board.

:)
