yeaaaaahhhh.... i hope i didn't screw up the video PAL. speaking of video... has anyone recreated the micron xceed card stuff? i'd love to have one because the SE/30 deserves better than 512x342 at 1 bit color...

Not the xceed no, the chips aren't available. Bolle was working on a different grey scale card that bumped the screen to 512*384. But I think it is still under development.

PALs are easy to replace thanks to Bolle and friends.

I believe all of the DIP PALs are part of the video system. New, blank PAL chips can be programmed with the reverse-engineered code to replace the original Apple chips. There are several members on the board with programmers (myself included) or they can be purchased pre-programmed from Digi-Key, etc.

UI6 is part of the RAM system, while UG6/7 and UE6/7 are part of the video system…

This is the modern replacement for the DIP parts. PLCC is the same part, just different package: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/microchip-technology/ATF16V8B-15PU/1118926
You can still find some of the old PAL16 parts from MMI and Lattice around, but they have been discontinued for a while. Check the schematic for specific part numbers.

UI6 also has HSYNC and VSYNC on some of its pins, so I figured it must be involved with video as well.
