I have not actually gotten the machine yet, but one of my good friends from huntsville has a mac mini and I asked him if he would sell it to me I was thinking maybe he'd take 80 for it when I asked about the machine he said he would give it to me. I insisted apon giving him something for it and we settled on 30bucks. I have always wanted a mini I'm not sure of the specs, but regardless I can finally have one! I also don't have any ppc machines sans the b&w g3 tower I have. My main problem with the powermacs is the size of them and sure they are beefier spec wise, but I can't really complain about 30 dollar g4 mini :)

No, no you can't. That would be ground to send out the MLA Conquest Appreciation Hit Squad, and we barely got through the paperwork from the last time.

In other words, well scored :)

That IS a good score. I've wanted a Mac Mini G4 for a long time. (I still hope to get one someday.)

Congrats. :D

Congrats mate - you're gonna love the little guy :D

I got my first mini last year as soon as the Nvidia ones came out, and have loved it ever since. So long as it's still around, I can definitely see myself getting another mini to replace this one in a few years!

I'm not 100% what I am going to do with it exactly. I am moving out soon and I really want my room to be somewhat minimalistic and everything have a definite purpose. The macbook I got a while back I finally got around to getting a keyboard for it, but same problem so I either got a broked keyboard or something else is messed up. My current plan in my head is to use the macmini in shut screen mode to be my new HTPC since it is even smaller than my nettop and a bit beefier. My nettop will get either 2 or 3 TB of storage and be hackintoshed running transmission as my seedbox and driving a 3rd monitor. I'm building a new i5 hackintosh desktop that will drive 2 screens and that is where the nettop running a 3rd beside it using synergy will come into play (I could use 3 monitors on the desktop, but I like the idea of having another system that will be running apart).

I'm now left with 2 pc desktops my current one (p4 3.2HT 2.5gigs of ram) that will most likely be moved to the living room to be the HTPC in the living room since this machine can run 720p video just fine. I also have my amd 3000+ athlon system which I think my roommate is going to want (I offered it to him) since it beats his current rig. Now, I really don't know what to do with this poor mini :/ I was thinking it as a HTPC, but it can't do 720p video which actually is a minium requirement for me. If anybody has any use suggestions that don't involve some rudimentary task like being a jukebox (I already have htpcs they can play music just fine, lol) I'd like to hear them. I spose at the worse I can keep it as backup machine or find a use for it down the line.

Haha I like the botnet suggestion. My htpc machines can already double as emulator boxes. I love th kitchn idea and I might do I but the kitchEn is pretty small.
