I just scored myself an early-90s HP UNIX box! There's this hallway in the basement of one of the engineering buildings on campus where a few of the oddball engineering labs that only a few people use are stuck, and at the end of it, waaaaaay in the back of the building, there's a large pile of junk. People from all over the College of Engineering dump whatever old equipment they don't really want anymore in there. It's quite an epic place :D

Anywho, I saw that bugger down there all stripped, and have been taking it home in bits for the last several days. I'm still on campus, but the last of it is in the backseat of my car ready to go home and be reassembled into a full machine :D

It was stripped of its HDD and all its RAM, but I have an olderish 800meg SCSI HDD that I was planning on using for it. I also have some RAM that I *hope* might work with it. I plan on running NeXTSTEP on the bugger because I've always wanted to play around with that system. So yea, wooooooooooo!

NEXTSTEP 3.3 should FLY on that sucker, assuming you can get install media. Here's a source for a complete (now free, but only as in beer, not as in speech) office suite for NEXTSTEP and OPENSTEP: http://download.ithinksw.com/lighthouse/

Note that I don't know if the binaries there will run on the PA-RISC version, but if they do, you should have a productive little box...
