The prices I'm seeing on retail sites just don't seem like they can be correct. $80 for a 32 MB RAM card?

I figure that has to be an inflated number, but thought I'd ask around.

you should wait till it arrives first. i'd hate for you to spend big $ on ram only to have your box run over by a mail truck.

Woe be to the package delivery person that would run over that 540.

There is no way I'm spending $80 on a RAM card, period. I'm just trying to get a feel if that is even a reasonable price given current trends. Honestly, I wouldn't pay more than $30 or $40 for one, so if that is too low of a price range, I'm not even going to bother looking.

Esoteric things like this tend to be expensive, but in short, it's not made anymore so it's worth whatever someone will pay for it. Best bet is probably to keep an eye out on ebay and see what turns up. Maybe find a beat up scrapper 540C and you might get lucky with the amount of RAM in it. 32MB was a LOT of RAM when one of these was new, so I suspect modules that large are quite rare.

I snagged two 32 MB RAM cards recently. I guess I got lucky, or they're easier to find than we thought.
