A few months ago some of you may remember that I ran into issues loading FCP 4 on my newly acquired Quicksilver. I'm now having the same issue on my trusty MDD; beach ball at "Loading Audio Filters."
What the two machines have in common is a flashed Silicon Image SATA controller, Samsung SSD, and 10.5.8. The copies of FCP 4 are different (one from MR and the other is my physical copy) yet they fail to load at the same stage. I have yet to try running it from the original hard drive, which at this point I suspect will work.
Am I alone in suspecting the SATA controller? I have no idea why it would cause this issue but its strange to have the same issue at the same spot with two different copies of the same program on two different machines. If it is that controller card that's a disappointment; I was looking forward to the quick access vs. HDD.
