eMac G4 (smokey)

I acquired an eMac 1Ghz that was pretty smokey. Girlfriend's aunt smoked a lot in front of it. I cleaned it like CRAZY, the shell a ten minute shower mixed with magic erasers. It all pretty much went away.. If I could get the grille off in front to clean the speakers I would be pleased. I may have to take apart a lot more to access the speakers by the looks of it.. :( The computer is quirky, I think it needs a new battery.

Mine was quirky also, battery helped but dusting and cleaning the analog board seemed to make it less goofy.

Eww... oh my gosh that is disgusting. Just imagine that 50x thicker in the walls of your lungs.

I'm glad I don't smoke!

I quit when I woke up feeling like I got trampled by an elephant. Smoking a cigarette should not be the first thing you're thinking of when you wake with a fever from pneumonia.

Me Too!!
I once carpooled with a heavy smoker (only once, never again), and it wasn't fun, to put it mildly.

I will NEVER smoke!

I just wish people would be more considerate with their second hand smoke.

And, by the way, this applies to anything else one might smoke (I won't say a word beyond that to avoid being political).

I hope the eMac doesn't suffer any ill effects from all that icky stuff!

The poor eMac. I gave her a newer computer, a cheap 2009-ish celeron tower I had lying around (fry's electronics computer) with windows 7 and I bought a little wireless usb stick for it that is meant for windows 7. Even after 2 fresh windows installs, it now randomly reboots itself, freezes when it's finished booting and just plain sucks. She has the emac back again while I figure out this PC (piece of crap)

I smoked for around 7 years. I'm at 4 years without one...seems longer. I just threw the pack out the window and dealt with the withdrawals for a few weeks. It was hard, like any other not so fun & difficult thing is to do.
