Broken CRT part. Easily fixable or complete replacement needed?

So just received a Mac SE and I don't know if this part was already broken or if it's something I bumped while removing the motherboard to get to the PRAM battery but it's broken none the less. Does this mean the only fix is a complete replacement CRT or is this a user replaceable part of the tube? Because I honestly have no idea nor any real CRT repair experience.

If I need a new tube are all the tubes interchangeable on the b&w compact or do I need a SE specific? Are there different brands or all interchangeable? Really heat broken as I was hoping to do a complete recap and end up with a great deal on this little Mac.

Yeah unfortunately that CRT is done for but this should be a drop in replacement. You will need to adjust the geometry and such after install and make sure you read up on replacing the tube and adjusting the yoke.

Thanks. It seems like from reading that just the Yoke can be replaced? Are they interchangeable between models? How do you physically remove it from the neck of the CRT? I know the tube itself was good prior to purchasing.

Yes, you can pull the yoke off the neck. As this CRT is broken, you don't have to be super careful doing it here (can't break the tube more than it already is), but do be careful fitting it on a replacement CRT, if it doesn't have the same yoke, if at all.

All CRTs are compatible across the 9" monochrome Compact Macs, as are any 9" monochrome (S)VGA CRTs you might find (if they're not horribly burnt in from point-of-sale use). They just don't all use the same yoke (connectors).
