I was banging my head against a wall trying to get wifi running with an WaveLAN silver and my PowerBook 1400 running 8.1. I was using the drivers from system7today, Version 6.0.4 of the WaveLAN drivers and no matter what I'd do the card would show up on the desktop, but wouldn't be listed in the Appletalk panel or TCP/IP panel. Finally I saw a comment on here, can't remember who, that mentioned installing the 68K version of the driver. I did that and it works now. Whoever said that, thank you, you saved me from buying more wifi cards. I'm posting this here so if some unfortunate soul in the future has the same problem they might find this pearl of wisdom.
